First Transnational Access Call Of SYNTHESYS+ Project to be launched

The fourth iteration of the SYNTHESYS projects is set to start on February 1st 2019, this time with CETAF as a partner. One key component of the projects was the provision of transnational access to natural history collections. This has not changed with the new project, SYNTHESYS+. Along with the start of the project the first call for physical access will be launched as well on 1 February 2019.

The call will provide funded researcher access to collections, libraries and facilities for state-of-the-art microscopy, physical, chemical & molecular analysis. The grants include both bench fees and contribution to travel and subsistence costs. Visits will be scheduled between June 2019 and December 2022.

Deadline for applications is 12 April 2019, 17:00 UK time.

Interested researchers can apply to 21 institutions via 13 national Taxonomic Access Facilities (TAFs, see poster below for complete list). For now, please direct any queries to Soon, the newly refurbished website will go online and provide all the information that you need. We invite every interested researcher to apply for this great opportunity, to study natural history at one of the project partners’ – most of which are CETAF members – collections. However, SYNTHESYS+ does not stop at providing physical access to natural history collections. In fact, SYNTHESYS+ will add a virtual access programme. These calls will launch in February 2020 and February 2021.
